Social Media: Your Website’s Marketing Funnel

You have a website. That’s great. But you need to use that website. How do I do that you may ask? The best way is to blog. Every website is capable of having a blog.

A blog is a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style.

I suggest that a blog is updated on a minimum once a week or four times a month. By blogging you are helping to establish yourself as an expert in your field, allowing people to get to know you, and showing people that you are someone they can trust.

This is where social media comes into play.

As you blog each week you share the blog posts on your social media platforms. (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+) The links of each blog post bring people back to your website. As they read the blog then they check out the rest of your site to get to know you, see what services you provide, or perhaps sign up for your free offer.

This is where you learn that social media is the tool we use to bring people back to your website. Your blog is the appetizer to get them to the website. Then your website is easy to use and visually appealing thus showing exactly who you are and what you offer. From here they contact you for a consultation or fill out a list catcher to have you on their list so they can stay in touch for when they are ready for your services.

Blogging takes time and dedication just like working a social media platform. Don’t get frustrated. Stick to it and be consistent with your blogging. I’ve had people watch me on Twitter or Facebook for up to six months before they decided to contact me for my services. But the point was they loved what they saw. And from there they were great clients and great referrals.

So are you going to blog? Are you still confused? Let’s talk and I’ll help you figure it out.
